A rooftop solar energy system on a home is a renewable energy system that generates part of your household electricity from the sun. On Ufkon you create your request for free; approved firms interested in the project unlock it and message you. Projects of 0–15 kWp fall into the home tier on the platform.
What to know before you ask for quotes
- Your consumption: the last 12 months of electricity bills are the first input for sizing the system. If you only have one bill, you can start with an estimate.
- Your roof: roof type (tile, trapezoidal metal sheet, flat terrace), orientation, pitch and shading affect panel layout and the mounting system.
- Shared roofs: if the roof is shared (for example in an apartment building), discuss the required permissions and decisions with the firm early; conditions vary by building.
- Grid connection: grid-tied systems involve a connection application and acceptance steps; check the current rules with the distribution company and EPDK regulations.
- Storage: a battery is an optional add-on and noticeably changes the total price; state clearly whether you want one when asking for bids.

Comparing solar panel quotes for your home
The total price alone can be misleading. Panel and inverter make and model, mounting, cabling, design and connection application, installation, warranty periods and maintenance should each be listed in the bid.

Rules for homeowners
- Your first project request is free; no card details are needed and your email is verified with a code.
- Until a firm unlocks your request, firms see only technical details such as province/district, roof type and approximate kWp; your name and contact details stay sealed.
- There is no limit on the number of firms: every approved firm interested in your project can unlock it once, and you see each unlock in your dashboard.
- The firm pays the unlock fee; the fee depends on project size (the kWp tier).
- Messaging starts only with a firm that has unlocked your request, on the platform.
- Requesting bids is optional; if you do, bids follow one template and sit side by side in cost per kWp.
- Once you close your request, no new firm can unlock it.
- Ufkon does not install and takes no commission on your deal; the contract, payment and warranty are between you and the firm.
