Solar energy systems for factories: collect bids on one yardstick

Factories, warehouses and industrial zone sites can collect bids for rooftop or ground-mounted solar projects on one template; your company stays sealed until a firm unlocks the request.

Short answer

A solar energy system on a factory roof or site covers part of the facility's electricity use with renewable energy. On Ufkon, projects above 100 kWp are split into several tiers; interested approved EPC contractors unlock the request and message you on the platform, and submit a bid on one template if you ask.

Preparation before procurement

  • Consumption data: the last 12 months of consumption and, if available, the hourly or monthly load profile.
  • Roof details: roof type and age, usable area, the need for a structural report and planned roof renovation.
  • Electrical infrastructure: transformer capacity, single-line diagram and connection point; connection capacity can limit the system size.
  • Connection process: check the current rules for the connection application, design approval and acceptance with the distribution company and EPDK regulations.
  • Internal approval: agree the bid template, evaluation criteria and decision timeline with your procurement team in advance.

Request bids on one template

At factory scale, bids often arrive with different scopes. Requesting bids on Ufkon is optional; if you do, the firms that unlock your request fill in the same BOQ (bill of quantities) template, cost per kWp is calculated by the system and any excluded item shows on its row.

New buildings and NZEB

Buildings used for production in industrial zones are outside the scope of the Building Energy Performance Regulation (art. 2/2). For new buildings on the site, check the NZEB conditions in the NZEB guide.

Rules for industrial investors

  • Your first project request is free; no card details are needed and your email is verified with a code.
  • Until a firm unlocks your request, firms see only technical details such as province/district, roof type and approximate kWp; your name and contact details stay sealed.
  • There is no limit on the number of firms: every approved firm interested in your project can unlock it once, and you see each unlock in your dashboard.
  • The firm pays the unlock fee; the fee depends on project size (the kWp tier).
  • Messaging starts only with a firm that has unlocked your request, on the platform.
  • Requesting bids is optional; if you do, bids follow one template and sit side by side in cost per kWp.
  • Once you close your request, no new firm can unlock it.
  • Ufkon does not install and takes no commission on your deal; the contract, payment and warranty are between you and the firm.

Frequently asked questions

How many firms can unlock a factory project?

There is no limit; each approved firm unlocks the request once, and firms in the same corporate group count as one. You see each unlock in your dashboard.

Are the firms' documents checked?

Firms join the platform through an approval process and their documents are checked. This check does not guarantee the quality of the work; review references and contract terms separately.

Who runs the bid process?

You do. Messaging, the site survey and bids with the firms that unlock your request run on the platform; you sign the contract directly with the firm you choose. Ufkon does not install and takes no commission.
